Praying in Latin at Home

As Roman Catholics, the Latin language is very dear to us in a way that is more than historical. It is the language of the Roman Rite. Our liturgy is traditionally in Latin, prayers in Latin, and so on. And we can bring this aspect of our Roman Catholic tradition into our homes by beginning to learn our prayers in Latin.

A great resource to have at home that is handy and pocket-sized is the pamphlet, Praying with the Universal Church, available through Adoremus Books. This small booklet contains all the prayers from the Catechism of the Catholic Church that Pope Benedict XVI said all Catholics should know in Latin.

We hope this resource proves as helpful to your family as it has to been to ours.
