Latin in the Spring

Latin I and II (Part Two) are being offered in the spring by Mrs. Rolling via Homeschool Connections. If you are continuing from the Fall or if you have found yourself in need of some extra help, please sign up here. Classes begin January 12th!
This is a challenging and fast-paced course with translations of ancient, medieval, and modern Latin texts. Each week there is also a Latin composition to write, a Latin prayer to memorize, and quizzes to take. Not to mention, there are the usual textbook activities. Come prepared to be challenged, but to have fun as well, especially as you learn with other students from all over the United States.
There will be much to do to prepare for the National Latin Exam as well. If you are thinking about the NLE, you should have your application in by the end of December to be certain your application is on time. Please see the link in the left-hand column for more information about the National Latin Exam.

  1. Hi there!

Your website is phenomenal with so many resources and opportunities for learning. It's truly a rich find! I tried to find a way to email you directly, but I couldn't. I'm afraid a comment will have to do!

My name is Jessica and I work for a company called Visual Latin. It's a combination of videos and exercises for learning Latin. We've tried to make learning the language as enjoyable as possible. Most of this has to do with our teacher, Dwane Thomas. Dwane actually taught me Latin when I was younger and he is excellent. Each lesson has 3 parts--grammar, sentences and reading. And each section has both a video and pdf worksheet. The great part of this program is that its self-paced. You can work through it as quickly or slowly as you need. It's portable so you can do lessons anywhere and if you miss anything, you can just re-watch the video. If you have a few minutes, you can actually see a complete lesson: http://www.visuallatin.com/watch

I was wondering if you would be interested in adding Visual Latin to your Latin Links resources on the left side of your blog. Or, perhaps, if you would be willing to do a review of our product for your blog. I'd love to talk with you. Please feel free to email me at info@visuallatin.com and we chat.

    Thanks!
    Jessica

  2. I'm so sorry to do this, but I want to make sure my previous post went through. I've been having technical difficulties recently!
